Rice is primarily consumed around the world. People across the globe have used conventional methods; however, the invention of an instant rice cooker has added innovation and a sure-shot solution for getting perfectly cooked rice each time.
One must wonder how the rice cooker identifies when to stop cooking the rice. Running some tests on the rice cooker, here is what we got to know:
The Rice cooker works by adjusting the ratio between water and rice, which is different for different types of rice. The water is mixed in the rice and absorbed, raising the temperature. As the water absorbs, the process also speeds up and triggers a lowering of the threat, indicating that the rice has been cooked.
How Long To Boil Water In Rice Cooker?
On average, a standard rice cooker takes around 15-25 minutes to boil a liter of water. However, for wild rice, you should cook it for 45 minutes, while rice for risotto should cook for only 18 minutes. The time it takes to boil water in a rice cooker can vary depending on its capacity, meal type, and the quantity of water you are boiling.
However, it is essential to note that rice cookers are designed primarily for cooking rice and not specifically for boiling water. While it is possible to boil water in a rice cooker, it may not be the most efficient method compared to using a kettle or saucepan.

Is Rice Cooker Rice Healthy?
Cooking rice in a rice cooker is not healthier than cooking rice in a pot. The rice cooker has no way of draining the starch from the rice and keeps all the starch in the cooker until it is reabsorbed back into the rice, making the rice have a high sugar quantity.
Compared to regular pot cooking, the rice can be washed and soaked until it is drained of all the starch and ready to be cooked.
