At first glance, the name “Twix” may seem mysterious or random for a popular candy bar, but this chocolatey snack has an exciting story. Well, according to research conducted by Nestlé UK back in 2008, they found that among adults aged 18-30 years old at least, they felt that Twix sounded more youthful than Raider, which appealed to their target market at that time—teenagers and young adults who were looking for a tasty snack option.

Twix is named after the words’ twin’ & ‘mix’ or ‘twin’ & ‘Stix,’ depicting the two bars and mixing ingredients. Twix is a chocolate bar with a caramel shortbread center, made from a cookie layered with additional sweets and coatings. Mars Inc. manufactures them, and they come in wrappers with one, two, or four bars. Twix was first released in the United Kingdom in 1967 as Raider but was renamed Twix in America in 1979.
Right & Left Twix are the two versions of Twix produced by the firm. Right & Left Twix is extremely popular among Americans of all ages. As a result, Mars began a campaign in 2012 to involve customers in determining whether Twix is superior to Right & Left Twix as a marketing approach. The advertisements are still running, and the firm has seen a significant increase in sales.
